Notes: Not a bad weekend for a team without a goal keeper. I "love"
Celeste's pictures of the Keepers; they look like the loneliest, most unhappy people on Earth. You should see them on the sideline at the end of 1st half and the end of the game; they stomp of the field, mutiny in their eyes, throw the gloves and shirt on the ground and give me the "look" that says in no uncertain terms, "they're done"!
All of that being a testament to the team work of our 1st line players.

There are no "stats" for the defense; just the satisfaction of a job well done (a "clean sheet"). And while there are some impressive statistics listed above, I think the most impressive number right now is that our defense had not allowed a goal, until today, since October 14th when we tied the Pac Hot Shots at York, 2-2. So, thank you to Lauren, Sophia, Alex, Blair, and Kiera for a job well done. And thank you to Kiera, Kelly, Rebecca, Emilie, Sara, and even Ashlin, for "doing time" in goal this season.

The girls played hard all weekend and had the will to see it through.
Saturday was a long day and the only thing I told them after the second game was that they were only halfway there. This morning, for the first time in over a month they trailed in a match, and they didn't let it phase them. They just played harder (ask them about tornadoes in a hurricane). And this afternoon, when they were spent and even a little afraid, they just kept slugging it out against a big, strong team (look for the picture of Alicia between two defenders). Good stuff.

I'll put together a ramdom rotation for the trophy and email it out.
We'll do one week with each family and then bring it back to my house for safe keeping. If you'd like to have it out for a special occassion after that, let me know.
If you're killing time this week and haven't had enough soccer, my boys play in King City Monday night at 5:30 and Tuesday, 3:30 at York.
Admission is free.

Have a great week and a happy Thanksgiving!
